By using ScanForAI you agree to these terms. Please read the accuracy section carefully — it matters more here than on most sites.

1. The service & who provides it

ScanForAI is an explainable AI-writing detector. You paste text and we estimate how much of it reads like AI-generated writing, showing the signals behind the score.

ScanForAI is a product of Zoniax OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia (registry code 16853667). Zoniax OÜ is the contracting party under these terms; ScanForAI is the name the service is sold and billed under.

2. Accuracy — a signal, not a verdict

No AI detector, including ScanForAI, can prove whether text was written by a human or by AI. Every result is a probability estimate from writing patterns and can be wrong in both directions — formal, technical, or non-native human writing can score high, and edited or newer AI can score low.

You agree that you will not use ScanForAI as the sole basis for any consequential decision about a person — including academic, disciplinary, hiring, or legal decisions — and that you will not use a result to accuse anyone. You are solely responsible for how you interpret and act on the results.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • exceed the rate limits, or script/automate the service to get around them;
  • submit content you have no right to submit, or anything unlawful or infringing;
  • attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service;
  • resell or redistribute the service or results without our written permission.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the text you submit. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process it and return a result (and, for signed-in users, to store it for your history until you delete it). See the Privacy Policy.

6. Plans, billing & refunds

ScanForAI offers a free tier and paid plans with higher limits and extra features. The price, the billing period, and what the plan includes are always shown at checkout before you pay. Limits and features may change as the service evolves.

  • Who you are buying from. ScanForAI is operated by Zoniax OÜ. Payments are handled by the payment partner named at checkout. Depending on the partner, either Zoniax OÜ is the seller and the partner processes the payment on our behalf, or the partner acts as merchant of record — the seller of record for your purchase, which issues your receipt and applies its own checkout terms to the payment. The checkout page and your receipt state which applies. In every case we answer billing questions and this refund policy applies. We never see or store your card details.
  • Tax. VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where the law requires it, based on the country you give us, and is shown before you pay.
  • On your statement. The charge appears under the ScanForAI name, on its own or after the name of the payment partner shown at checkout — not as Zoniax.
  • Renewal & cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account; you keep full access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you are not charged again.
  • Refunds. Annual plans can be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase if you haven't made significant use of the paid features. Monthly plans are not refunded once a period has started — cancel instead, and the plan simply doesn't renew. Billing errors are always corrected.   • Price changes. If a price changes, we tell you in advance and it applies from your next billing period — never mid-period.

7. No warranty

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScanForAI is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, or for any decision made in reliance on a result. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify account holders. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
